Korea Town Art Center (KTAC) was founded in 2016 by a group of artists and community members united by a deep love of Korean culture and a shared commitment to keeping its traditions alive. Originally established as the Korean Traditional Dance Institute of California, the organization became an official 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2017 — formalizing its role as a cultural institution dedicated to preserving and promoting the art forms that have defined Korean identity for generations.

At the heart of KTAC’s mission is a belief that traditional Korean dance and music are not relics of the past, but living expressions of community, heritage, and joy. Through classes, performances, and cultural programming, KTAC works to educate the public, serve the greater Los Angeles community, and foster meaningful exchange between Korean culture and the wider world. From our studio in Koreatown to stages across the globe, we bring these art forms to new audiences while honoring the traditions that have been passed down through centuries.
